Artist's Description

This old tree blew down in the wind quite a few years ago. Once or twice a year I walk out on this cliff and see the view and check the old weathered tree. I used to sit almost right on the edge of the cliff on this tree and enjoy the view. I stay back further now as it is getting a bit rotten. I am sitting on it, in fact, while taking this photo. I love old gnarly trees. To enjoy a view of Lake Superior while sitting on one is wonderful.

About Sandra Updyke

Sandra Updyke

Over the years I have had a good many up close and personal experiences with most of the wildlife up here. Sometimes I had a camera, sometimes not. Some got pretty intense. But, they all ended well. My dog, currently a golden retriever named Toby, goes with me on almost all of my expeditions to find something photo worthy. He is a bird dog, for sure. But, camera season lasts all year long. I like to take photos to show the beauty of nature as it really is....as I see it. I don't feel a need to use Photoshop to do a lot of enhancing...
